Accessing water is a problem for many families in rural areas of Africa. Fetching water is therefore an important daily activity.

Women have to walk a far distance in the morning, queue up and fill a plastic jerry can or any other large container.

Under these conditions, water is mainly used for food and drink needs. If some of it remains, it may be used for laundry or to wash yourself.
