Description:
An extremely impressive bronze sculpture of an African musician playing a percussion instrument . Cast in bronze using the lost wax method, this is an unique one-off piece of art. The piece originates from the African region of Burkina Faso, where the metalsmiths are noted for their artistry and skill. Bronze sculptures of musicians such as this were primarily produced in the 50’s and 60’s, but the same lost wax process has been used in the region for thousands of years. This example is both larger and far more detailed than most. It stands roughly 6 1/4 inches high. Beautiful patina, and very well cast. This is about as good as these sculptures get.
