Welcome to Jolof Market, a brand of Africa Alive LLC; a Black-owned company founded in 2012 and based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA.

The company was established with one mission in mind: bridge Africa and the World by sharing with you the most beautiful and unique pieces handcrafted from the African continent.

Jolof Market is the home for authentic African products made by African artisans.

Coming from Senegal, our founder: Moustapha Drame wanted to make “Made in Africa” products accessible to a wider audience. From our artisan to our customer, he has built an equitable platform of exchange, a Jolof market which promotes financial empowerment for African women through fashion, crafts, arts and culture.
His ambition is to make African culture just as widespread, understood, consumed and respected as Japanese sushi or Latin Salsa.

Our artisans live in Agadez in Niger, Bamako in Mali, Dakar and Thies in Senegal, Douala in Cameroon and some towns of Mauritania. They work as cooperatives – either family co-ops or associations and through their art, they financially support their entire communities.
